About MISH
MISH is a sustainable furniture brand which focuses on creating delightfully unique and usable objects.
Founder and craftsman, Michael Healey, has always had a passion for creating functional art, and balancing tradition with technology. When crafting a piece of furniture Michael thinks of how to harness and spotlight the intrinsic properties of the material. Designing from an artistic standpoint first, before intricately crafting robust pieces that are also impeccably fabricated.
While researching sustainable woodworking, Michael discovered bamboo — an eco-friendly material that has amazingly complex textures, great strength, and natural beauty. This aligns perfectly with MISH’s environmental, as well as aesthetic, philosophies. Now MISH uses bamboo almost exclusively, creating some of Ireland’s most original furniture pieces.
Meet the Maker
Michael Healey has loved creating and designing since he was young. He has a degree in 3D media & design from the Art Institute in Fort Lauderdale, USA. After graduating Michael began working in software design. However, he has always maintained and grown traditional skills in painting and woodworking. Over the years, those areas have melded more and more; culminating in a focus that incorporates traditional woodworking and computer aided manufacturing to realise original designs.

When creating a new piece of furniture we first look at it from an artistic standpoint. Our mentality is not to compromise, but to innovate and find a way – ensuring every item is masterful of both design and fabrication.

Created in Ireland
All our products are handcrafted at our workshop in Kinsale, Co Cork. Along with traditional methods, we also specialise in modern, low-waste techniques; such as CAD prototyping and CNC machining.
